For years now, I’ve taught hardworking and busy students how to get into their dream colleges and university courses by upping their maths scores.
Because school is stressful enough due to the pressure to score high, I observe the way you think and point out adjustments in your thinking process to get the right outcome, with normally only one hour of tuition a week.
It all began when, after 5 years of teaching maths, Mirjam Diamanti wanted to combine her teaching experience with her experience as a management consultant.
As a teacher her strong points are her ability to visualise Maths concepts and prompt pupils to focus on the essence of the topic at hand. This results in the elimination of misconceptions and retaining the correct maths procedure.
Implementing change and facilitating growth of staff through individual and group coaching are her strong points as a management consultant.

A-Level & PGCE
I am trained to teach Maths up until A Level. My strength is in pure maths but I don’t shy away from Decision making, Mechanics or Statistics.
I have an extensive base of lesson material and experience in teaching which I happily share with any of the PGCE students. I am also happy to support you one to one when you are doing your teacher training or NQT.
Online Tuition
The beauty of modern technology enables me to teach pupils where ever they are. The technology used can vary from Skype to specially designed classroom systems. Depending on access to technology we choose the most fitting application.
When pupils are taught in small groups and missed a lesson I can provide a recorded lesson in their files so they can catch up with the topics they should know and practise with the worksheets.
Students with dyscalculia/dyspraxia
Dyscalculia generally shows in pupils as the inability to use negative numbers, reverse operations and reverse procedures. Once they have been shown the how, they happily remember and answer questions correctly.
Dyspraxia students have a feeling for numbers but can’t write down the working out. Consistent pointing out what steps they follow and modelling working out gets them to overcome their difficulties.
Unwell students in hospitals or at home
Some students unfortunately get ill and are not able to get to school due to illness or hospital stay.
I could support these pupils with on site or on line lessons to help them continue to learn and not get a gap in their maths development.

After disappointing results in my daughters Mock GCSE Maths tests (grade 3/4 borderline) she agreed (reluctantly!) to have some extra sessions with a tutor to focus on areas she was struggling with.
Mirjam came highly recommended by a friend that had also used her services for the same purpose and after a quick call to discuss a plan we agreed we would try a few, 1 hour a week sessions to see how they went.
Several months and a significant improvement in test results later I can comfortably say that it was time and money very well spent. She was actually really sad when the sessions with Mirjam ended as she realised as she had no more tests to complete or study for there would be no need to continue, something I would never have believed at the start!
